knowledge and skills using whole body learning techniques. Our
core values center on supporting healing and learning through valuing
diversity, inspiring confidence, and providing tools for lasting
growth in each individual’s life. To accomplish this,
Advanced Holistic Healing Arts provides a wide variety of classes
for the community and health professionals, as well as forum for
other members of the community who wish to share their talents and
gifts.
Advanced Holistic Healing Arts is available
to teach classes throughout the state of Texas and nationally. Because
we believe that personal growth, fulfillment and health can be achieved
by anyone, we will strive to find ways to make our services accessible
to any interested person. Some payment plans are available.

Classes
for the Professional
Adult Learning Facilitation
and Theory (30 hours)
The Adult Learning Facilitation and Theory Course is a 30 hour
course in basic principles of adult learning, instructional design
and classroom management. It is intended to provide Licensed
Massage Therapists and other interested professionals with a basic
foundation for teaching the adult student. This course fulfills
the requirement of DSHS for Adult Learner Theory to become licensed
as a Massage Therapy Instructor. This course is held over a 4 day
period. (CE's approved for NCBTMB).
Adult Learning
Facilitation and Theory – Home Study Course (30
hours)
The Adult Learning Facilitation and Theory Course is a 30 hour
course in basic principles of adult learning, instructional design
and classroom management. It is intended to provide Licensed
Massage Therapists and other interested professionals with a basic
foundation for teaching the adult student. This course fulfills
the requirement of DSHS for Adult Learner Theory to become licensed
as a Massage Therapy Instructor. The course includes a book and
workbook. The course must be completed within 1 year. The workbook
is returned to review before the certificate is issued. To

Negative Pressure
Massage: An Introduction to Massage Cupping Techniques (6
hours)
Massage cupping, based on an ancient technique, is a modified
version of the common practice of cupping therapy. This technique
can be used to assist a range of modalities from lymphatic drainage
to deep tissue release. Discover how to use massage cupping
to increase circulation to injured muscles, decrease swelling, and
stimulate lymphatic flow. Learn proper techniques, as well as indications
and contraindications for use. Hands-on lab included. (CE's approved
for NCBTMB and Texas). This class is open to anyone interested in
learning about the technique.

Massage For Facial Lifting and Drainage (6 hours)
Massage cupping, based on an ancient technique, is a modified

can be used to stimulate circulation and lymph drainage while relieving
muscle tension. Discover how to use massage cupping to reduce
stagnation leading to dullness, dark circles and sagging, puffy
skin in the face and neck and give your clients that youthful, lifted
look. Learn proper techniques, as well as indications and contraindications
for use. Hands-on lab included. (CE's approved for Texas). This
class is open to anyone interested in learning the technique for
themselves or for their friends and family.
The
Nervous System – The Missing Link in Massage
(12 hours)
All muscular movement results from stimulation by the nervous
system. Studying the muscles, their movements and actions
is only part of the story. Understanding how the nervous system
works and relates to the muscular system greatly enhances the effectiveness
of bodywork. The focus of this class is connecting the muscular
system with the nervous system as a whole, integrated understanding
of the function of muscles and causes of pain, restriction and faulty
movement patterns. What we understand, we can change.
Bootcamp for Healing
Practices: Tools for taking your practice from surviving to thriving
(12 hours)
Do you love your clients and what you do but wish you made
more money doing it? For those in the healing professions, it can
be a common challenge to build a practice and make a comfortable
living.
This class is designed to give you the tools that can make a difference
between surviving and thriving. It is often a challenge to combine
taking care of our clients and still managing the day to day of
the business. Daily decisions about keeping clients, getting new
clients, marketing, pricing can all seem overwhelming and challenging.
These two day give you tools that make these and other decisions
easier and provide productive results.
The first day covers tools to use that make day to day decisions
easier and your choices more successful. Through hands on activities
and group discussion, you will find your guidance tools, your decision
making criteria and have opportunities to get feedback from peers
on everyday decisions. Together, we will explore your vision and
values, mission and goals and how to use those tools to make effective
decisions about marketing, advertising and pricing. We will explore
different avenues of marketing that are simple, effective and fun,
and cost little money. By the end of the class, you will leave a
whole now set of tools and some specific actions you can take immediately
that will impact the income of your business.
The second day is designed to remove misconceptions about networking
as a marketing tool. You will discover easy networking tools and
opportunities, including the use of social media. Even if you are
not a "social" person or not a "tekkie", this
class will offer you opportunities to think creatively about your
business and how to connect with others that will happily support
your business.
This is a fun, interactive class that gives you real tools you can
use immediately.
Combine both classes and you are on your way to an improved income
and more fun in your practice.

Community Classes
The Journey Continues--living
after cancer treatment
This 2 hour workshop is provides information about
what life after cancer and cancer treatment can be. It is expected
that we will only focus on getting past the cancer during treatment
and often our friends and family understand and are there to support
us. Once therapy and treatment have ended, it can be confusing to
know what to do next, how to relate to our family and friends and
how they can relate to us. This class helps those transitioning
back to life and their support team to understand what questions
will come up and create a space for continued living. Michelle
is a cancer survivor and shares from her experience and those she
works with.
Supporting Friends
and Loved-ones with Cancer
This 3 hour workshop is designed to give you tools
and strategies to support yourself while you support others. It
helps answer the questions of "what next" and "what
can I do?" that come up for so many of us. Often, when faced
with cancer in a friend of loved one, we feel helpless and confused
and just want to help but don't know how. This class provides opportunities
to discover what you can do and what is next.
How
to Talk to Your Doctor
Have you ever left your doctors office and realized
you didn't really understand what they told you? Have you left feeling
like you had questions but did really think to ask them until it
was too late? This 90 minute class is designed to give you some
basic tools to feel confident that you will get your questions answered
and your needs met at your next visit to your health care provider.
Feel
Better Now—10 Steps to More Energy and Better Health
This 3 hour workshop is full of information that you
can immediately incorporate into your life to have more energy,
joy and fun. These suggestions are based on scientific knowledge
and are simple and understandable. Class includes a book and
workbook.
Getting Started
and Getting Comfortable with Facebook and Twitter
This 3 1/2 hour workshop, co-taught with Sherry Scott,
is designed to take the beginner through the necessary steps to
enjoy posting to facebook and twitter. Whether you have never been
to facebook or twitter, or have an account but aren't fully utilizing
it, this class offers helpful information for you. The class includes
information about how to use social networking, how to get started
and make your first post to facebook and how to use twitter. This
is a hands on class, so bring your laptop. If you don't have a laptop,
come anyway. Some laptops will be available.
