Each newsletter has a specific focus.  This month is focused on business and ethics information. If you would be interested in receiving my newsletters, please head over to my contact page and sign up.

Tidbits, Updates and Fun Facts:

  • The Ethics of Touch: The Hands-on Practitioner's Guide to Creating a Professional, Safe and Enduring Practice Second Edition by Cherie M. Sohnen-Moe and Ben E. Benjamin PhD.

Marketing Tips:

  • Reconnecting with those missing or "inactive" clients to renew their commitment to bodywork.  An article by Todd Brown titled "This Massage Marketing Tip Is Almost Too Easy!" reminds us to remember the basics.

Ethics:

  • A look at an ethical situation all too common in massage (the demanding irate client who doesn't understand why you won't accommodate her appointment time needs) with questions to help clarify the problem as well as the solution.

Research:

  • A review of the International Journal of Massage Therapy and Bodywork and some examples of research in the Jun 2015 edition, including a case study focused on massage and concussion.

Career Spotlight:

  • A look at a career path survey created by the AMTA to help therapists find their strengths and where those strengths can best be applied.
